Who We Are
The Society of Printing Practitioners of Nigeria (SPPN) is a legally registered corporate body (CAC/IT/No 44320, 12th April 2011) established to promote excellence, professionalism, and unity within the Nigerian printing industry.
Our membership consists of certified practitioners formerly under the Institute of Printing Nigeria (IOPN), one of the founding bodies that contributed to the establishment of the Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria (CIPPON) Act No. 24 of 2007.
Today, SPPN welcomes new members—individuals, students, professionals, and registered corporate organizations—who are dedicated to advancing the science, technology, and art of printing.

Introduction
The Society of Printing Practitioners of Nigeria (SPPN) operates within a well-defined constitutional framework that guides its goals and responsibilities. Our membership is drawn from experienced professionals who contributed to the establishment of CIPPON—the statutory regulatory body for the printing profession in Nigeria.
We admit qualified individuals and registered corporate printing organizations, and we also support grassroots printing practitioners seeking career growth and professional recognition.
Our long-term action plan includes the following:
Strengthen relationships among members across local, state, and national levels.
Organize workshops, seminars, and professional training for practitioners, and encourage innovation-driven research in institutions of learning.
Collaborate with government agencies and industry stakeholders to provide technical training and skill development programmes.
Advocate for favorable government policies, including reduced tariffs on printing equipment, improved investments, and the revival of Nigeria’s pulp and paper industry.
Seek support from foundations, corporate bodies, and partners to execute impactful projects that uplift the industry.
Some of the challenges currently facing the Society include:
Coordinating manufacturers and suppliers across the nation in line with SPPN’s action plans.
Addressing logistical constraints in reaching students and practitioners with updated knowledge and training.
Limited engagement with government bodies on policy issues affecting the profession, including tariffs, procurement, and investment.
The Society of Printing Practitioners of Nigeria is committed to elevating the printing profession to global standards. Through structured training, strong collaboration, professional certification, and advocacy, we aim to empower practitioners and strengthen Nigeria’s print and packaging sector.
